Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Neuropsychotherapy - Counselling
“This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes from an unexpected visitor. Welcome and attend them all even if they are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. They may be clearing you out for some new delight.”- Rumi

MY BACKGROUND
Welcome, I am Glenda and I have been working for 13 years within different therapy and mental health services in Queenstown.
My primary training is CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuropsychotherapy. I am however trained in a number of therapeutic interventions: Narrative therapy, ACT – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT – Dialectical Behavioural Therapy including Mindfulness skills.
I often incorporate several therapies depending on the person and their presenting issues. I frequently utilise Neuropsychotherapy/Neuroscience as a framework as it demonstrates how the brain functions and can assist individuals to understand their symptoms and behaviours particularly those experiencing anxiety/stress. It provides a platform in which to develop appropriate ways to manage their condition.

I endeavor to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to express and explore their issues. I strongly uphold the principles of confidentiality and professionalism. I consider therapy to be a process of increasing one’s self awareness in order to develop a quality of life.
